Juan Manuel Fangio one of the greatest drivers of the twentieth century. The son of Italian immigrants he was born in Argentina in 1911.

He began his racing career in South America in 1934 in mostly long distance road races . The outbreak of World War II halted his rise and he did not race in Europe until 1947. He was not successful immediately but was second in the championship in 1950.

He won his first championship in 1951 and went on to win four in a row between 1954-1957. He retired in 1958 and died in 1995.

Fangio  is widely considered to be one of the greatest racing drivers of all time.
