Ready to board a Lancaster or Halifax in preparation for another night raid into Germany, the pilot is equipped with Irvin jacket and trousers, 1941 pattern gloves and boots, a ‘C’ type helmet, 1941 pattern life preserver and Mk VIII goggles.

The cold cast Bronze RAF Bomber Command Pilot sculpture is made entirely by hand by sculptor Peter Close in his studio in Somerset.
